Warriors News · Locker Room Updates

Just want to give all the schedule for the next few days. With the rain DeKalb changed the scrimmage from Thursday to Friday and doing the scrimmage at New Boston because they have artificial turf. The scrimmage will begin at 6:00 p.m and will be 4 quarters just as a game with varsity playing the first and third and the 9th-JV will be 2nd and 4th.

Saturday morning at 8:30 we will take pictures with all high school football players at the high school fieldhouse. 9th grade will be in white jerseys and high school will be in black jerseys. After we finish the pictures we will divide into 6 groups and go sell discount cards to raise money for all sports. With the budget cuts in schools we become more self sufficient if we expect to keep the same quality offerings. The cards are $20 each and are good for both consumer and businesses.

Saturday evening we will bring back “Meet the Warriors” at Warrior stadium. The Warriors varsity players will go to Warrior stadium at 6:00 and run through a dress rehearsal for the Paris North Lamar game. They will be in game jerseys and shorts. At 7:00 p.m. I would love to introduce the new Warriors to the past Warriors and Warrior fans. If it rains we will do the dress rehearsal but will be inside the stadium fieldhouse.

Our first game is August 26th at 7:30 p.m. at Warrior stadium. We play the North Lamar Panthers from Paris. The game is a “blackout the Panthers” and we are asking all Warrior fans to wear black to the game. We have a great home schedule this year with Hugo, Muldrow for homecoming, Eufaula and Heavener all following the home opener.

We will also begin a 6th grade football program with a parent meeting on the 20th of September and games beginning on the 24th. Any 6th grader from any school district is eligible but the parent/guardian need to come to the meeting on the 20th. Our objective is to teach young players how to block, tackle, throw, catch -be fundamentally sound and have fun playing the game of football.

If you have questions or concerns please call me at 580 212 3071 or come by the fieldhouse. Our athletic mission statement is to use athletics to enhance academics, improve character and offer every deserving athlete the opportunity to excel. We cannot do this without community support. Please support the athletes.
